College Ave Center Volunteer
Program:
College Avenue Center (CAC) is one of two thriving JFS older adult centers. Participants enjoy daily programming, help with resources and lunch Monday through Friday.
Goal of Position:
To help members at the College Avenue Center feel welcomed and comforted when they come to the CAC by providing quality customer service. Volunteers will provide coffee for participants as they arrive and throughout their morning. Support the Center's goals of providing a vibrant activity center where older adults can connect to their community while exercising their mind, body and spirit.

Tasks/responsibilities:
9:30-11:30am:
- Setup (make coffee, etc.) Cozy Café.
- Greet older adult members as they enter the Center.
- Help direct clients to activity locations.
- Socialize with clients.
- Pour coffee or other hot beverages.
- Close down (put away and clean up) Cozy Café.
11:30am-1:00pm:
- Assist with lunch setup.
- Help direct clients to lunch location.
- Socialize with clients.
- Serve lunch to clients.
- Provide beverages and refills as needed.
- Clean up and put away lunch items.
Skills:
- Must be friendly, outgoing, and cheerful.
- Enjoy working and interacting with older adults.
Qualifications:
- Must create and complete a Volunteer profile in Galaxy Digital
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have reliable transportation to CAC
- Complete an interview with program staff
- Complete and sign the volunteer waiver
- Must pass a background check
- Must complete HIPAA training
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
Time Commitment:
College Avenue Center is open Monday through Friday. Volunteers are needed for shifts from 9:30-11:30am and 11:30am-1:00pm. Volunteers may register for one or both shifts on a given day. Ideal candidates will be able to make a minimum commitment of three months.
