Economic Mobility and Opportunity: Administrative Volunteer  Get Connected Icon

Get Connected Icon Until Dec 28, 2023

Description

Program

The JFS Economic Mobility and Opportunity (EMO) team leads innovative projects such as San Diego County’s first guaranteed income program — the San Diego for Every Child Guaranteed Income Project (SDec GIP) – as well as the Child Welfare Services Cash Transfer Program, the Recovery Action Fund for Tomorrow (RAFT), and the Black Women’s Resilience Project. These programs are designed to address the root causes of poverty and socioeconomic disparities.  Through these programs, the goal is to cut child poverty in San Diego in half by 2030.

Goal of Position

A critical component to the success of the EMO programs is the smooth operation of their administration. This involves the proper organization of files and listservs, cataloged communications to participants and the broader public, support with onboarding and off-boarding of program participants, and more. Though the Economic Mobility and Opportunity Administrative Volunteer will not be in charge of these tasks, they bring expertise in organization and communication to support the Economic Mobility and Opportunity team. The goal of this volunteer position is to be a consistent and reliable ad hoc member of the team, who helps increase capacity for administrative tasks. As volunteers are considered an extension of the JFS team and help serve as the face of these programs to participants and the general public, it is also a goal that volunteers have an astuteness and sensitivity to the underlying principles and goals of direct cash-transfer work.
