Description

Join us for the January Donuts and Discussion to enjoy a donut, meet fellow volunteers, and learn about the newest initiative, San Diego for Every Child!

What is the San Diego for Every Child?
San Diego for Every Child is on a mission to change the way San Diego addresses child poverty. With the goal of cutting the experience of child poverty in San Diego in half by 2030, we’re building a coalition so broad that we represent all of San Diego County.

We are mobilizing new, returning, and seasoned community champions. Our theory of change includes involving more San Diegans as advocates and stakeholders in this work, because we believe real change comes when a critical mass of us plans, acts, and speaks as one community.

San Diego for Every Child is born from deep respect for existing organizations and families, and confidence that greater coordination across the safety net will benefit everyone. Our work is getting to a San Diego where every housing, childcare, healthcare, and food security organization is pulling in the same direction to dramatically reduce the experience of child poverty.

Finally, through leveraging philanthropic dollars, we can try and test new ways of doing things in direct collaboration with families navigating systems meant to help them. By thinking inclusively, collaboratively, and strategically, we can direct our combined energy toward lifting up the solutions we already know work and identifying new ways to fill in the gaps. We can make sure that the solutions that work best get the resources they need to be successful.

All of this is San Diego for Every Child. We can’t do this without you. Join us!
