**This is a short-term (3-months) volunteer opportunity.**
Starting the week of January 5, JFS will be installing a new backup generator at the Jacobs Campus to provide reliable power during power outages for critical JFS operations, including the Loonin Kitchen and the computer server room. The project has been designed to minimize disruption to operations, but will require closure of the East Access road, which is where vehicles currently drive to pick up their SmartChoice curbside orders.
To maintain operation of this vital service, we need volunteer support at the front of campus to assist with loading food into clients’ cars during the period of the East Access road closure. Volunteers will be stationed in front of building 8788 with the boxed food orders, while Nutrition staff remains in the Warehouse to perform other duties and support other volunteers helping in the Warehouse at that time. We thank volunteers for understanding that there may be periods of little activity (lulls) and periods of much activity (rushes) within the same shift.
Please report to the Food Warehouse to begin your shift. The Warehouse staff will meet with you and give you further instruction.
