Program:
JFS is hosting its 2nd Annual Career Fair and we need your help! The event will take place on Saturday, October 22nd from 10:00am-2:00pm (set up will begin at 8:00am).
This is an opportunity to help us grow our incredible JFS team and, as a result, continue to provide much-needed services in our community! To learn more about this event, you can check out the JFS Careers Page or JFS Job Board.
Goal of Position:
Volunteers will have the opportunity to serve as ambassadors of JFS. They will have an opportunity to share their own experiences with JFS and being changemakers in the community. They will gain stewardship, as well as event set-up and coordination skills. Food will also be provided. This is also an opportunity for youth to volunteer with their parents/legal guardians.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Event Set-Up (8:00-10:00am) - Volunteers Needed
- Set up tables, put tablecloths on tables, make sure each table has 2 chairs
- Make sure each table has the following items on it:
- x3 Clipboards
- x2 Folders
- x1 Interview Sign-Up Sheet
- x5-6 pens
- x2 sticky notepads
- x2 paper weights (or rocks)
- Tie up or tape department signs on the top left corner of tents
- Signage on table = QR codes inside clear sign stands
- Blow up balloons with blow up machine + set up balloons (arch/pillars/columns) (we will explain how to do this!)
During Event (10:00am-2:00pm) - Volunteers Needed
- Sign in table – greet attendees and help them scan the check-in QR code (or, if they don’t have a mobile device, assist them with the physical sign-in sheet)
- Refreshments/runner
- Review map and lead people to correct booths
Post-Event Break-Down (2:00-3:00pm) - Volunteers Needed
- Pop balloons
- Clean up trash
- Collect tablecloths
- Collect signs/clipboards/sticky notes/pens/paper weights/folders/papers on tables
- Help with loading tents and linens into the truck
Qualifications and Accommodations:
- Must be 13+ with guardian
- Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds
- Must wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to provide own transportation to the Turk Family Center
Time/ Service Commitment:
- 8:00am-3:00pm
- Shifts_
- Pre-event (2 hours) 8am-10am
- During-event (4-hour shifts) 10am-2pm
- Post-event (1 hour) 2pm-3pm
