The JFS Breaking Down Barriers program is an outreach and education program that works with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and the LGBTQIA+ community to talk about mental wellness. Through educational workshops and events, we discuss the stigma of mental health and connect participants to helpful resources.
About the Event
Do you enjoy going to festivals and chatting with other festival-goers? The JFS Breaking Down Barriers team is looking for some outgoing volunteers to support them at the North County Pride by the Beach festival on Saturday, June 7th. This opportunity is best for volunteers who are allies or part of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ community in San Diego, and who support access to mental health resources. Volunteers ages 16 and older are welcome. We hope you can join us at this fun event!
How You Can Help
Volunteers will join Breaking Down Barriers (BRB) staff at the JFS booth and give away flyers and help festival-goers spin the wheel to win prizes! No prior knowledge about the BRB program or mental health resources is necessary.
