Looking to help people and families experiencing homelessness gain access to food and other resources? Have great customer service skills and enjoy working in an office environment?  Become an Outreach volunteer!

Along with our permanent supportive housing program, we provide outreach services for people experiencing homelessness in our community. During our outreach office hours, homeless individuals and families can come into our JFS office for a hot meal, snack bag, water, hygiene kit, sleeping bag, clothing, shoes, backpack, and bus pass.   Our goal is to empower residents to secure permanent housing and overcome financial and functional barriers to thrive in mainstream society.

 

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Distributing food, clothing and other necessities to clients
  • Collecting and filing their paperwork
  • Data entry
  • Organizing and restocking the supply closet
  • Assembling food bags for distribution

 

Qualifications needed:

  • Must be 18 + to volunteer independently, or 10-17 years accompanied by parent or guardian.
  • Background check required (18+ only)
  • HIPAA Privacy/Security Training (provided)
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must wear closed toed shoes
