At JFS, we’re committed to fighting hunger and making sure that everyone in our community is food secure. We also believe in rescuing food that can nourish someone in need rather than letting it end up in a landfill. Our reason for this is clear: We know that when families have enough to eat, they can more easily afford other necessities, fulfill their potential at work and school, and focus on long-term goals.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Have a safe and reliable personal vehicle to use for pick-ups. Mileage reimbursement is available.
- Pick up food from various restaurants and grocery stores. JFS has partnerships with various businesses and will provide the list of pick-up locations.
- Bring food back to JFS offices, unload food, and store in freezers.
- Shifts Available: Wednesdays or Thursdays 8:00-2:00.
Qualifications needed:
- Must be at least 25 years old and have a valid California Driver’s license
- Current car insurance; JFS provides secondary insurance
- DMV check
- Background check
- Be able to bend, twist and lift up to 25 pounds
